The Court ruled that Louisiana’s law requiring abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a local hospital was unconstitutional and went too far in limiting access to abortion. The law’s main sponsor, Louisiana state Senator Katrina Jackson, a Democrat, told reporters she was “deeply saddened” by the decision. “They ruled against women’s health care,” she said. But Kathaleen Pittman, the woman who runs the Shreveport clinic that challenged the law, said that people there were elated by the ruling....

Heavily redacted court documents unsealed Tuesday showed that the DOJ was investigating a “bribery conspiracy scheme” in which an unnamed individual or entity “would offer a substantial political contribution in exchange for a presidential pardon or reprieve of sentence.” The court documents were originally obtained and posted online by CNN. Because of the redactions, names were not revealed. It was not immediately known if President Donald Trump was connected with the investigation....

Kasich, who ran against Trump in the 2016 presidential election, chose to endorse presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign in the 2020 race. Carroll, who alleges that Trump raped her in a New York City department store during the 1990s, sued the former president for defamation after he called her a “liar” for accusing him of rape. The Federal government is expected to declare a water shortage in the lower basin of the Colorado River by 2022 at the latest, which will trigger mandatory water cuts in Arizona and Nevada. Friends and collaborators revealed that the star had died of kidney failure on Saturday, April 17, after being admitted to an Atlanta hospital. One of the homicide victims was identified as 42-year-old Erlinda Villareal and two boys aged 9 and 12, according to a statement released by the sheriff’s department. The identification of the two boys is still pending notification of next of kin as they are minors, but the police department did confirm that Villareal is the mother of the other victims. The sheriff’s department released a photo of the suspect, who they identified as 35-year old Louis Lucero....

It was eight years ago at this time that two Cavaliers, Sasha Pavlovic and Anderson Varejao, found themselves in much the same position as Thompson. Truex’s longtime girlfriend, Sherry Pollex, is battling Stage III ovarian cancer and is in the midst of a one-year program of once monthly chemo treatments. “When you see somebody go through something like that and it is the person that you love more than anyone in the world, it takes it to a (new) level,” Truex said in January. Pollex, who spearheads Truex’s foundation that raises money to help children and their families as they battle cancer, has had her appendix, spleen, ovaries, fallopian tubes and part of her stomach removed as she battles the dangerous disease....
