An August 29 letter from the United States Department of Education says that the joint program is not in compliance with the conditions guiding its funding by the National Resource Center, which offers grants to Middle Eastern programs at prominent universities across the country. If the program does not alter its course selections by September 22, it could lose future access to National Resource Center funds, the letter said. The program received $235,000 from the grant last year....

After President Donald Trump’s administration imposed tariffs, causing international disputes that hurt farmers, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s methods for calculating the amount of damage for each county was faulty, resulting in overpayment and inconsistent payment, the report said. The report estimated that corn producers received around $3 billion more than the USDA’s estimate of trade damage to corn, while payments for soybeans, cotton and sorghum farmers were below the estimated trade damages....

Navarro appeared on Fox News Monday morning to discuss vaccine development efforts for the virus, which he repeatedly called “the China virus.” Navarro defended President Donald Trump when he was asked if the initial October target date of Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” vaccine development project was designed to deliver results right before the presidential election. “I think we’re all tired of this politicization of the China virus,” Navarro said. According to Navarro, the Trump administration began discussing strategies for fast-tracking vaccine manufacturing in February, about a month before states began shutting down to control the virus’ spread....

An unnamed senior administration official told the Associated Press that the two Republican leaders had a “good conversation” and “reflected” on their accomplishments during their private evening meeting at the Oval Office. Trump and Pence also condemned the rioters that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, with both men in agreement that “those who broke the law and stormed the Capitol last week do not represent the American first movement backed by 75 million Americans,” the official said....
