Trump’s counsel submitted a 19-page written legal argument to a Southern Florida court with a district judge set to decide whether a special master can be brought in to review the materials seized by the FBI from the former president’s home on August 8. In their court filing, Trump’s lawyers acknowledge that sensitive materials from Mar-a-Lago may have been previously returned to the National Archives in January, but downplayed their discovery....

The Trump campaign spent $3 million for a partial recount in the Wisconsin’s Milwaukee and Dane counties. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the Milwaukee County recount found 257 more votes for Biden and 125 for Trump, giving Biden a slightly larger lead of 132 in that county. The final recount showed 317,527 ballots cast for Biden and 134,482 for Trump. Dane County is anticipated to finish its recount by Sunday....

Biden, the election’s presumptive Democratic nominee, continued his months-long lead over Trump in national polling data released on Tuesday. However, his advantage was slightly slimmer than it was earlier this summer. Results of a recent survey conducted by Monmouth University, Biden currently leads the president 51 percent to 41 percent among registered voters nationwide. The survey collected responses from 785 voters across the U.S. between August 6 and August 10....

The report said that even after Zinke, who served in the Trump administration, said he would break ties with a foundation involved with the project, he continued working with the organization, the Associated Press reported. He also allegedly provided incorrect and incomplete information to an ethics official from the Interior Department after being confronted about his ties to the project, the report said.
